Successful Ways to Introduce a Project

Be enthusiastic

Be dramatic

Be brief

Open with an attention getter

Keep vocabulary appropriate to the age level you are teaching

Be confident...remember there is no one in the room who knows more about this project than you do

Be flexible

Use more than words to motivate

Discourage visual stereotypes (happy faces, cartoon references, etc.)

Set classroom rules and norms.
  • Respect each others work and work space
  • Care for materials
  • Noise levels in classroom
  • Signals for silence
  • Clarify clean up procedures
